Minutes of Managers Meeting

REDFEARNS JFC CLUB
COMMITEE MEETING – 8 December 2008

IN ATTENDANCE

Congratulations were given to Robin, who has successfully completed and passed his Level 2 Coaching.

MINUTES FROM PREVIOUS MEETING
The minutes from the previous meeting were discussed and agreed as accurate.

ACTION SCHEDULE
Action schedule from previous meetings were discussed. The action for arranging a First Aid course has been discharged. The date agreed was Thursday 5 February. Laura will forward further details to managers.

CORRESPONDENCE
A letter was received from Rotherham Utd informing us that Jordan Good has been selected for trials, commencing 6th January 2009.
The Sheffield & Hallamshire statement has been received. We have no suspensions commencing in the next 14 days. 1 penalty point accrued so far this season.
One of our Under 16’s player has received a caution and the Club has also been charged for one of our Under 16’s parents conduct towards the referee.
Laura also took a phone call on Wednesday and we will be receiving a free portable net to advertise. Delivery will be this week along with further details.

TREASURER'S REPORT
Allen had not checked the balance. A bill for Dorothy Hyman is due anytime.

SHEFFIELD MEETING
Due to a misunderstanding the meeting was not attended. Laura apologised as soon as she was notified so hopefully the fine will be £10 instead of £20. The minutes have not been received and will be e-mailed to managers as soon as they are received.

Next meeting to be attended by the Under 15’s – January 6th.

LEVEL 1 & 2
Level 1 courses will be held February at Dearne Valley College. Allen distributed details to managers. £30 deposit will be required by those attending to secure the place and show commitment to attending. Managers were asked to check with those attending to confirm asap.

Level 2 courses will be run in July at Dearne Valley, so far Ian Shirt, Phil Kaye and Paul Annetts have stated they wish to attend.

CHRISTMAS RAFFLE
Laura reminded everyone that the raffle would be drawn at 10.00 am on Sunday morning; remaining raffle tickets need to be handed in no later than Friday.

LAURA –
Teams still have outstanding consent forms
10s – Owen Wildblood 12s – Adam Wilson, Max Heritage-Stevens, Sam Jones 14s – Reece Bryan 15s – new players registered.
Presentation nights have been booked, Friday 12th June for 6-10s and Saturday 13th June for 11-16s
MARK –
Asked when the league would finish. It is generally March and extended to April.
PHIL –
Asked when the contract is due to finish for their training. He had been informed that the room was not available on the 17th Dec. Allen confirmed that this date had been paid for. Phil will get them to arrange alternative arrangements.
NICK –
Asked whether a parent who helps out will need to be CRB checked. The parent already holds a CRB possibly with the FA. He was asked to get the parent to provide the check for Laura to check otherwise a CRB form will need to completed.
STEVE –
Commented on the state of the Astro Turf at Dorothy Hyman. Allen will contact them immediately to arrange repairs.
IAN –
Has got 2 doors to replace the existing doors that have been vandaslised. He will liaise with the joiner to get them fitted.
ALLEN –
Informed everyone that the Gala may have to be put on hold due to works that may be carried out on the grounds of Redfearns. Suggestions were made for the possibility of holding the Gala elsewhere. Dorothy Hyman, Milefield, Carlton Park and Worsbrough were mentioned. Enquiries will be made if any of these venues can be utilised.
There is a possibility of obtaining funding to hold an It’s a Knockout event, something fun for the managers to do whilst the kids watch – further details will be given when available.
Sheffield Coaches Association are holding a session this Wednesday – topic unknown and will be run by Allen Irvin (Preston).
ROBIN –
Asked for confirmation from Phil whether they would wish to have fan plaques instead of trophies for the presentation night. Phil agreed his team would have them, so all teams have now agreed.
